Like any other resort, Somerset Court has an Activity Director. Our Activity Director’s job is to get to know each resident and, where possible, provide opportunities catering to his/her interests. Upon joining our resort community, the Activity Director will meet with the new resident and ask questions designed to get to know his/her interests, hobbies, and personality. This information will be helpful in designing our activity calendar.
We have many different activities at Somerset Court to reflect the many interests of our residents, such as:
Local music groups to entertain
Field trips to local areas of interest
A walking program that encourages
exercise and good health
Card and pool tournaments
The ever-popular bingo
Crafts, sewing, and crocheting
Games and puzzles
Gardening
Resident Council meetings
and many other activities designed not only to entertain, but to help residents maintain their fine motor skills and mental awareness.
All activities are strictly voluntary, although it is rare to find someone who does not enjoy at least one of the many scheduled activities on the calendar! We also welcome anyone who wishes to teach other residents and staff their special skills, such as needlepoint or cards. You’re never too young to learn something new!
